The Prairie Mills Windmill was built in 1872 and is the only smock mill that still has the original stones and gears in place. Today, the Golden Windmill is

Postville Courthouse The Postville Courthouse in Lincoln is a replicate of the original building from 1840. The one seen today was built in 1953 on the same spot that the old structure was on. The first courthouse was bought by automobile titan Henry Ford in 1929 for a memorial he was building in Dearborn, MI. The Joseph Smith Historic Site retells the story of the Latter Day Saint movement in Nauvoo during the early 1840s. Guided walking tours begin at the Visitors Center, starting with a short film and continuing through the Smith family's homes. Carl Sandburg State Historic Site The acclaimed author and poet Carl Sandburg was born in this three-room cottage in 1878. Sandburg went on to write numerous poetry, children's books and his most famous work a six-volume biography about Abraham Lincoln.
