The Buchanan Center for the Arts is housed in an historic building that is located in downtown Monmouth. The center features a 2400 Sq. Ft. exhibit space, Artisan Gift Shop, a studio for art classes, meetings and other arts-related community events. Art classes include painting lessons, ceramics, weaving and more.

Tours are given at the University Art Gallery, which is located inside Western Illinois University. The gallery is open to the public on weekdays from 9am to 4pm and is closed during school vacations and holidays. This art gallery features over 1,200 objects of art in a variety of two and three-dimensional media, including contemporary prints and drawings.
